Saradha Group, a chit fund company in Kolkata, has left thousands of depositors in a financial mess.
This has happened innumerable times in the past — and it will continue to happen in future too...unless
...unless people become less greedy
...unless people become more careful
...unless people realize the importance of financial literacy
Now these depositors, as also the agents, have met the Govt. to help them recover the money. There is a lot of hue and cry that Govt. and its regulators didn't do enough to protect them against such fraudsters.
Well, I wonder...
If you keep your door unlocked and your cash/valuables get stolen, do you blame the police and Govt. for not protecting your house? No. In fact, you would never leave your doors unlocked. Before you go out, you will always make 'doubly' sure to lock your house.
Then why do you now blame the police and Govt. for not protecting you, when a swindler has fooled you? It was totally and absolutely your fault. They didn't come and rob you at gunpoint. No. You went and deposited money with them, despite being fully aware of the existence of such fly-by-night operators. You invited them to loot you through your greed, ignorance and laziness.
Think!
And please...please Act!
